This premier trade body has strength of more than 3000 members across the country.
Construction of state of Art Complex called IJMIMA for the members of imitation and fashion jewellery industry and was inaugurated in year 2006.
IJMA is representative body of imitation jewellery industry at all government levels to raise issues related to industry.
Member of National Adhoc – Committee for domestic council of Gems and Jewellery constituted by Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
IJMA represents imitation jewellery vertical in Gems and Jewellery export promotion council of India.
Made several representations to Government of India and GJEPC for allotment of one seat for imitation jewellery industry in executive committee of GJEPC. Ministry of commerce accepted IJMA’s proposal and directed GJEPC to allot 1 seat to imitation jewellery industry in the executive committee.
Played vital role in including imitation jewellery in Gems and Jewellery sector.
Made several representations before GST Council, Ministry of Commerce, finance and many state governments for inclusion of imitation jewellery under bracket of GST slab applicable for gold, silver and diamond jewellery. Hence imitation jewellery now attracts only 3% GST and 5% GST on job work of imitation jewellery.
Conducts seminars on GST, Income tax, Industrial laws and motivational subjects.
IJMA has organized many exhibitions in Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Chennai.
Organize picnic every year for its members and cricket tournaments every 2 years.
IJMA raised the issues related to central excise duty before ministry of finance, revenue secretary for withdrawal of 16% central excise imposed in the year 2001. However government reduced central excise to 8% after our representation.
Instrumental role played in 1% VAT on imitation jewellery in the year 2006.
Making untiring and unstinted efforts to curb and curtail import of imitation jewellery from china by evading massive custom duty.
IJMA Conducted many webinars during lock down period for resolution of the problems emerged due to long lock down and slow economy.
Currently IJMA is developing a B-2-B, E-Commerce portal for all the members of imitation and fashion jewellery industry.
